Seasonal Flowering Chart
The following flowering chart is based on the months designated in the
Flora of Virginia (2012).
There may be some variation between the flowering months provided
in the species descriptions (most species descriptions make reference to
seasons and not specific months). The flowering times provided in the
species descriptions are consistent with the general species distribution;
the flowering times provided in the seasonal flowering chart are more
consistent with the mid-Atlantic region (particularly Virginia and Mary-
land). There may be some variation due to specific location physical
characteristics (e.g., altitude).
The flowering months for each species of forbs/herbs are listed below.
