Saxifrage (Family Saxifragaceae)

 

Family Saxifragaceae, commonly known as the Saxifrage Family, is
comprised of herbs or shrubs, rarely trees or vines, and is constituted
of about 80 genera and 1200 species worldwide.

 

Family Saxifragaceae members can be found in frigid to temperate
zones, chiefly North temperate, a few Southern temperate and tropical
mountains.

 

Family Saxifragaceae is economically important only for such orna-

mentals as Saxifraga, Heuchera, and Bergenia.
